Kevin Macpherson paints directly from life, his paintings are witness to what he observed and appreciated. The paintings he creates are a dialogue with nature and his paintings are a by-product of this conservation. His paintings speak to me in an aesthetic universal language. Some artworks speak in bold and colorful slashes of paint and grab my attention quickly and others whisper delicately and grow on me in time. He seeks to find deeper meaning in his Plein air paintings. His paintings have the power to uplift offering a deeper visual experience beyond a mere picture or documentation. Great paintings are challenging for artists and should challenge the viewer to be engaged emotionally beyond the mere academics.This is the intangible ingredient that gives one the unexplainable goose bumps when in the presence of a masterpiece.
“与自然对话”这个系列展出了凯文·麦克弗森在世界各地创作，其中包括美国，法国，比利时，马耳他，希腊，挪威，意大利，澳大利亚，新西兰以及中国在内的外光派小幅作品。这些特定的作品大部分都收录在凯文的新书<<光与色.油画写生与创作>>（广西美术出版社）。凯文纯熟的技法捕捉到沉浸在大气中的风光景色和沐浴在灿烂阳光下的意大利村庄，人们可以感受到西双版纳温暖湿润的热带村庄，还有垂直陡峭的美国大峡谷。这些作品展现了春意盎然，生机勃勃的春天，金光闪闪的秋天却唤起了人们对生命无尽轮回的感叹。
" Dialog with nature"collection includes small Plein air paintings from around the world, including the United States, France, Belgium, Malta, Greece, Norway, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and of course China. Many of these special paintings are featured in Kevin's new book, "Light, Atmosphere and Color... Oil Painting Sketches From Nature". ( Guangxi Fine Art Publishers). Kevin's adept brush captures scenes bathed in atmosphere and the sun drenched colors of an Italian village. One can feel the humidity steeped in the tropical villages of Xishunagbanna and the steepness of Grand Canyon walls. The paintings capture the fragrance of fresh spring greens and the promise of life. The inevitable golden glow of the autumn light reminds us of the cycle of life.
此次在顺德德胜美术馆不仅展示了“池塘的反思”油画作品系列，也包括了多张凯文在广东，广西，上海，北京，云南等地考察的风景画和肖像画
The works presented here in Shunde Art Museum will not only include examples of his legacy series, "Reflections on a Pond", but also Landscapes from Guangdong, Guangxi, Shanghai, Beijing and Yunnan and portraits of the many people and faces that caught his attention as he travels throughout China. Many of his award winning paintings will be on display and for sale for the first time in China.
